Sabine Scherer advises private equity and venture capital funds and family offices when a leadership role in one of their portfolio companies needs to be filled. She has more than 30 years of experience, over 20 of them in private equity and venture capital, and works across Germany, Austria and Switzerland from Munich. Most of her mandates come through long-standing relationships, repeat work and referrals.
Her business changed, and so did her website.

The site described a consultant Sabine no longer is.
I had built her old website myself, in IONOS’s site builder. Her business had changed since then. The site still offered coaching, which Sabine no longer provides, talked about “HR Advisory”, linked to XING and said “© 2018” in the footer.
In May 2026 I wrote to tell her the site still looked the way it did back then. She replied 17 minutes later to say she had been meaning to get in touch about it anyway.
Fund partners check the site, and no mandate may appear by name.
Most people who read Sabine’s site are fund partners checking her out before a first conversation. At the same time, no mandate could appear by name. Almost everything in her field is confidential, so client quotes were out of the question.
Six questions answered by voice message, a first draft six days later.
After a Zoom call one morning, she had a fixed-price offer a little over an hour later. The copy came from voice messages: Sabine answered six questions by talking freely into her phone, in German, across eleven messages totalling 33 minutes. Six days later the first complete draft was ready in English.
Over two rounds of feedback she went through the site from her investors’ point of view and sharpened a good deal of the wording herself. The structure and positioning came from the voice messages; the final polish was hers.
From “HR Consulting” to “Portfolio Talent Advisor”.
Going through the copy, it became clear that “HR Consulting” in the logo no longer described her. She now trades as “Portfolio Talent Advisor” and is updating her signature, letterhead and LinkedIn to match.
Three mandates, described by Sabine herself.
Seven pages in British English, with two services where there used to be three. Client quotes were ruled out, so three anonymised mandates, written by Sabine, show how she works instead.
Along the way the site got faster: it loads about a fifth of the old data. The old site pulled files from ten third-party servers, the new one from none. If a provider changes its terms or goes down, Sabine’s site is unaffected. That is also why it needs no cookie banner.
Each subpage has its own job.

Live since 23 September, the day she gave the go-ahead.
The site has been live since 23 September 2026, the same day Sabine gave the go-ahead. It is too early to say whether it brings in more enquiries. We will measure again in March 2027.
We’ll find out in our first call whether we’re a good fit.
If a single new client is worth more to you than the website, you’re in the right place. The cost depends on the scope. That’s why I only give you the fixed price after our call.
